Site has gone downhill

I know the site owners need to make some cash, but the amount of ads is over the top. The site is now not worth my time.

I still have zero ads other than the side bar.
You may want to turn on your ad blockers.

If I am browsing, I turn the Java Scripts Off on my mobile browser. Is very darn fast but some functionaly issues will come. Like some pull menus will stop working. But for browsing only, works extremly well.

Paying for a Premium Membership gets rid of the ads on most forums. Or the use of ad-blockers is the other option. The wealth of information here can be well worth the investment. Thanks to this forum, I have factual information to discuss my claim with GM. Without that information, they could tell me anything and I wouldn't know.

As sites become more popular (number of hits) the more advertisers want to be there. What was once a "free" internet is no longer free. Back in the "old days" forums were "user groups" hidden on a corner of the internet and controlled only by the users. Those days are long gone along with free TV.

This site does have more ads than any other site I have been to. My ad blocker is currently showing 28 blocked ads on this one page. That is crazy. Most sites are less than 10. That being said, AdBlocker really speeds this site up.

Agree, AdBlocker works well for speed and viewing. Currently, I have 52 blocked ads on this page.

I have the opposite opinion. When I first started viewing this forum a year ago before ordering my Dmax, the site was riddled with petty name calling and bickering. There was a moderator that was abusive and his obvious lack of self-esteem was leading him to try and lord it over everyone. There were also a couple of users who, in pushing back, were equally petty in their comments and this was all causing many of the threads to devolve into off topic BS. The moderator got his feelings hurt and went away, and the the problem users have either been blocked or have moved on. I don't see any of that happening these days. It's better for sure.

And yes, with adblocker turned on, I never see any adds....

I am good with the site and I mainly use it on my desktop. I tried to become a premium member but it won't allow me for some reason. I believe in supporting the sites that help you but this site makes it it difficult because I haven't figured it out yet. 355 Nation was a breeze that is why I was surprised that coloradofans did not make it easy to support them. Maybe someday it will be worked out.

Looks like there are a few 'Ad Blockers" out there....any recommendations on one for Chrome that isn't a resource hog & ends up crashing etc?

I use Ad Blocker Plus on Firefox and it works perfect. Here is the same one for Chrome. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ifddb?hl=en-US

If you're annoyed by ads - then perhaps you should retire from viewing the internet altogether. It's the way of the world my friend.....

Aside from the side bar - I don't have any issues with ads or even pop ups. I'm not 'internet' skilled at all. I don't have any ad blockers (that I know of) unless Apple/Ipad/iphone does it automatically? I also use it on firefox on my desktop - no problems. I can't even explain whether its a 'setup' thing or what?

There's not a lot of forums out there for the Canyon/Colorado that has that many members and that much information/feedback. Good Luck finding a 'bigger' more active forum.

I started back in February and I'm 'new' to the site. I have seen an improvement in overall 'attitude' of the forum over the few months.

And yes.....Websites/forums cost money. Ads are the way to pay for the costs of the website/web hosting, etc. There is an 'Upgrade to Premimum' membership button but I've yet to see it work. So - I'm guessing this site doesn't have premium membership available? If that's true....then consider the ads a blessing that keeps this site rolling.

Rock on and great job to the Mods & Members!!

I use AdBlocker by Symantec, it's free on the app store. At least for my IPad and works great, on this site and many others.
From download to finished setup is less than 2 min.

I can't become a premium member either. I've tried a few times.

I do find it funny when an ad pops up for the new Toyota Tacoma occasionally lol.

I use AdBlocker on my laptop, works fine for me so far.

Ditto.
Tried prem mem & no go.
Tacoma ads also cracked me up.
AdBlocker on laptop - Bingo!

I have a relatively slow internet connection and as much as I enjoy and appreciate this site, it was on the brink of unusable until installing AdBlocker.

For those wanting a premium membership, I've spoken to Supermodulation about getting this back in play for the members. He's currently working on it on the back side.

Once everything is fixed and available, we'll post up for you guys.

Sample premium user status, I turned off the side bars in your account!

Let me know if that helps?

My computer connection is fast enough that I don't have a major problem with ads, phone not so good.

What bugs me on my computer is when one of those video ads on right sidebar suddenly starts playing the audio all of a sudden.
