I would have to agree. This is one of the slowest sites I visit.

Have you tried using Adblock Plus?

Right now ADP has blocked 60 ads on this page. You will likely discover better performance by blocking all of those renegade ads that are not sanctioned by the forum. They are likely because of your own browsing habits.

Hey there,

Which browser/OS are you running? If IE, have you added the site to compatibility mode? (Tools > Compatibility View Settings)

Are you seeing any rogue popup ads?

Have you cleared your cache and cookies?

Are you seeing any alerts in your browser of "Waiting for / Connecting to" ? If so, what is the address it is hanging up on?

Thanks,
- JB

Thank you for even having this site up. Im sure the ads barely pay for this website and the only money coming in is from memberships. But people here dont realize how much $ and time has to go into the site being any faster than what it is...

Angry Slow Slow SLOW

If there was an award for the slowest most ad laden site on the web, this site would surely win big.

It's a real shame because the info is great, it just sooo painful trying to get at it.

Please tell us two things if you're experiencing lag

-Your Browser
-any and all "waiting for..." messages that it hangs on for a particularly long time

Thank you

If I'm not signed in, it's so slow as to be completely unusable. It will actually make E crash. If I'm signed in the E or G, it seems to run just fine. Slightly slower than some other sites, but not enough to be really noticeable unless you're really looking for it.

I use chrome and an ad blocker. even with the blocker off it isn't that bad. I think you guys need a new computer or faster connection, or both. I recently switched to an AC wireless router and the speed is incredible.

I use firefox with ad blocker ultimate. It has blocked 130k pop ups in the last 12 months. It blocks about 20 on here daily. I have never had any issues on here.

Using firefox, the tabs show the "loading" circle status constantly. I tend to browse by viewing the new posts menu and opening a new tab with each thread I want to read so I have like 2-5 tabs open from this site and they all stay with that loading circle in the tab.

The page itself it fully loaded, but the tab still shows it as loading.

This is the only website that this occurs on. I get this without an ad blocker on and I tried with it on as well and same issue.

Hey spoonman,

Did you by chance see if there was an improvement with speed after clearing your cache/cookies? Are you seeing any alerts at the bottom left corner of your browser showing "Waiting for X / Connecting to X" ? If you do see this, what URL do you see it latching onto? Can you take a screenshot?

The more details you can provide us, the better we can assist you by narrowing down to the problematic area. Thanks!

Cheers,
Natalie
