trading to a 1500 SLT

Well, although I had the Canyon Crew SLT for 9 months decided to trade up this week to a Sierra 1500 SLT. Loved my Canyon especially when I got it lifted and added the Duratrak but I could never get the seat position to a comfortable setting (6'3" 240). With 10 way power and power pedals in the bigger truck it worked like a charm. Its a full load with everything so a few of the extra creature comforts will be nice.
What I like: dual temp so no more fighting with the wife on control; no more having to find the exact recline position after a service appt when they adjust it; homelink, heated steering wheel (Northern Canada), front and rear parking sensors; power sliding rear window (no more wasps sneaking in while stopped at lights and way too much of a stretch to get it from the front seat without changing seat recline; I guess vented seats for summer although never had before so don't know; 4wheel drive button where you can see it, power fold mirrors; sunroof, nice for the little bit of summer we get; LED lighting all around is kind of neet.

What I will miss, the Look of the Canyon with its unique style, I am thinking the better gas mileage but we will see with the cylinder deactivation on the new one; will miss the price as the 1500 Sierra was expensive in my book.

Best of luck to all and enjoy driving the twins.

Hey good luck.
Sometimes our desires do not fit like we want, so adjustments need to be made.

You will enjoy your new truck. They are great vehicles. I came to my Canyon from a Texas Edition 4x4 Silverado and was a little worried about going to a mid sized truck. I miss the extra room I had in the full sized truck sometimes but really like the ride, parking, and handling of the Canyon. I also appreciate the fuel mileage advantage I got with the Canyon. As I first stated though, you will enjoy your new truck.

Can't fault your decision if you're 6'3" 240. Full size guy might need a full size truck. I would like to see them put the 2.8 Duramax in the full size, then you could have it all. Good luck and enjoy your new ride.

You'll like the truck, expect 16.2 mpg overall. I traded up from a 15' Silverado LT2 Sport Custom 4x4 to my Colorado 😂.

Hey, if the FS truck works for you, go for it. I know the showroom model I sat in a few years ago, right before the 2nd Gen midsize were released, was extremely comfortable for my 6'1", 250 pound body.

All those extras are nice on the full size! Still can't understand why the Canyon Denali doesn't have them? The Denali is nothing more than an SLT with Denali badges and grill, not worth the extra in my opinion.

Congrats on the 1500 SLT. Can see your need for the room and w/ those options that truck will spoil ya rotten. Memory seats will pay off for you and the wife too if she drives it.

I came from a '14 1500 LTZ w/ everything your SLT has but the sunroof. Don't miss that much from the LTZ w/ the Canyon SLT, only used the a/c seats a few times/ year but miss the added storage areas in the doors and larger console most. Had 18 mpg lifetime on the LTZ, not a deal breaker.

Hope you enjoy it. Good luck!
