What is slot in dash for?

Keep seeing this slot in the dash on both twins but nothing in the manual says what it's purpose is. Anybody know? Thanks.

According to GM it is a Toll Card Holder, here is a picture, Note: no wires or connectors behind it ........

I believe that's where gm will place the trailer brake controller that will be offered as an accessory soon.

Put your credit card in there for the monthly payment.

Probably to see if anybody noticed it.
There was extra budget on the project so they designed the panel to peak curiosity.

Maybe that is where the CD player would go if you took the panel out.
Just kidding.

Second look - too small for a regular CD, maybe mini-CD.

That has to be it. Just makes it easier to make your payments instead of having an app on your phone or paying on line.

Others have said trailer brake controller, I'm thinking its for coin operation. Three quarters, and a pinball machine comes up on the center screen.

I have heard in the past those were for toll cards for commuters. My wifes Vue has one too.

I was checking mine out today...credit card fits perfect! I did shine a flash light in there and really can't see anything. I'll pop the cover off this week and take a pic and post it.

i also noticed this slot when i was with salesman and i inquired about it, but he had no clue, neither did manual, i shined light into it, to check for card reader head, but its just a spring loaded plastic finger right in the center at the back, so i can only assume a card holder.

Holder for fuel or toll card seems reasonable. Peculiar that the manual doesn't identify it as anything.

Here's the video that shows the trailer brake controller slot at about 3min.

And a pic of the demo with it in place.

Beats mounting an aftermarket controller under the dash.

Wonder when it will show up to order on trucks, and when we can get it through parts?

This video also shows a CD player, which is apparently no longer an option... not that it matters.

I saw it during my test drive as well and asked the sales guy and he said it wasn't really a slot, just there for looks to break up the panel. Not sure he was right, as it really looked like something could go in there.

I like the idea of it being a card holder as in the photo linked above.
