LOL I guess worst-case-scenario, it can be shipped with my vehicle and I can ask the dealer not to install it when the truck comes in.

I have gone back and forth on this. As of right now my preferred order sheet has the spare tire carrier on it but I am doing the same and having the dealer not install it. I will definitely be modifying it to be removable unless the option is too expensive. Does anyone know the price for the option from Chevrolet? I may just drop it and start from scratch. I too like the look and am conflicted with putting such a nice wheel under the bed.

Surely they were smart enough to put some type of cheap plastic cover on the spare to protect the wheel. That's a no brainer.

I will be shocked if there is a cover.

Well, it's Monday! Anybody have any updates? I'm going to call my dealer in awhile and ask AGAIN about the Red Hot.

Yeah my update is I may be SOL! Not one ounce of good news from the dealers I have been working with here in SE PA. One dealer says the 4ZR option does not even show up for them to select. The same dealer tells me they called Friday to give me an update but I didn't answer so they didn't leave message! I think I dodged a bullet with that dealer. The dealer that has their order in and are willing to change to my specs are concerned they do not have diesel allocation so it may be a no go. I hate Mondays!!

Well I am in a price game as the dealer.

I made a fair offer and if they take it good if not I will wait and ask for more off on a 2018 or go GMC.

I should know today.

I called one local dealership that is 10 mins away and they have 3 allocations for ZR2 and were ordered last week as the following:

ZR2 CCSB, Black, Bose Audio and Navigation, V6 Gas.
ZR2 CCSB, Cajun Red, Bose Audio and Navigation, V6 Gas.
ZR2 CCSB, Summit White, Bose Audio and Navigation, V6 Gas.

All have a Target Production Week of April 24, 2017. No pricing was available.

If they just had replaced that Black with Deepwood Green it would have all three of the colors I would consider for MY-2017.

WOW!! 3 allocations right away. Why can't these dealers be around me. Interesting part is they ordered only V6 models. How many on here that ordered a diesel have had the order picked up? The V6 seems to be what the dealers that are able to order around here are getting and all have concerns with the diesel availability. Is there a constraint on diesel at this time?

WOO HOO!!!!! It is 100% confirmed, Red Hot is available on this initial run. I called today and they rechecked the system and it was indeed changed and available. My order has been changed.

Just checked my tracking number with chevy chat and they said it's accepted, and the plant is scheduling the build, but no build date stated yet.

Thank you sir! I just might take you up on your offer if I'm not able to find one locally. Is the image on the poster one of the promotional shots we've been seeing of the Red Hot ZR2?

It's a new shot.

Shot during this session, but more front on, and intimidating...

Stopped by Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX and put a deposit down for a ZR2. They claim to be the largest Chevrolet dealership in the US. Not sure on their allocations, but the guy I ordered from doesn't know of any other orders placed on their behalf. So, hopefully it'll go through.
V6, summit white, Bose with vinyl flooring.
They said tomorrow or Wednesday before the order goes in.

I probably contacted 3 other dealers in the DALLAS area trying to order one. They seemed to have no clue...

Mine was ordered from Classic last week. My understanding is that allocation was not an issue. That's good for both of us. Did you get any other options other than Bose and the carpet delete?

I kept it simple. The guy I worked with said dealers do the cargo light install. So, I'll probably get that done once it arrives. Also gonna do wheel locks, tint and some all weather mats.

How long did it take to process your order?
