Colorado CC 2WD V6 1200 mile report

Here is a report of my Colorado CC 2WD V6 after two months and 1200 miles. It was built Feb 20th and I'm not having any of the problems reported here with windshield wipers, water leaks, upshifting or downshifting, whistling noises, etc.

I just got home from a trip across the continental divide and am happy to report a 27.1 mpg on 85 octane regular. There was no pinging from the engine and it had plenty of power even at 11,000 feet over Hoosier Pass. I always use Tier 1 fuel, usually Shell, as I have in my 2010 Equinox for the last 5 years and if you are not using Tier 1 fuel and having some of the pinging problems that are being written about on this forum, I recommend trying it out.

I was originally going to buy an extended cab 4 cylinder but after seeing the amount of room behind the front seats and realizing how many RPM's the engine would be turning compared to the V6 I changed my mind and bought the Crew Cab and V6. I am very pleased with the decision I made and now wish I would have bought the V6 in my AWD Equinox 5 years ago. The Colorado is getting better mileage than the Equinox 4 cylinder.

18 months and 8000 miles later

Still enjoying my Colorado and NOT having any of the problems being reported on this forum. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I have averaged 26.5 mpg since I bought it 18 months ago. Using Top tier 85 octane fuel.

Smile Now getting 29.5 mpg in V6 2 wheel drive.

I just got home from another trip across the continental divide and am happy to report a 29.5 mpg on 85 octane regular. The mileage just keeps getting better as it gets broke in. This is traveling from 5,000 feet over a 11,539 foot pass and back.

I lived in CO for four years before I moved to NC. All four of the vehicles that we owned in CO got better mpg in CO at high altitude than they did closer to sea level. Definitely less power, but you get better mpg at high altitude.
