I received an email from amazon saying that the tyger star armor is available. I was able to complete the order but it said shipping 1-2 months in the confirmation email. Hopefully it won't take this long. I'll keep an eye on eBay and will order from there if amazon doesn't ship my order.

I too just ordered the Tyger star armor side steps on Amazon. Will see how long it takes them to arrive in Denver.

I ordered when it said one in stock, and will be here May 8. Offer was Prime-only too, weirdly enough. So I signed up just to get these.

Has anyone been able to jack up the side of their truck with any of these nerf bars or side steps? Looking for actual experience so I can choose some that won't damage the rocker panels if I have to do this off road.

Looks like there is a race or luck to see who receives their tyger star armor first. Lol

I wouldn't recommend this. the weight of the truck is a lot more than a fat guy standing on a running board.

I get that maybe the steps might not hold up the side of the truck. But what about nerf bars mounted to the frame? Any actual experience beyond opinion or speculation?

I wonder if Tyger is making these per order rather than stocking up inventory?

I think I barely beat you two to it, but I'm glad they have more. I was hawking Amazon every morning, afternoon, and evening, and I caught the Amazon stock Friday morning. Looks like mine is on its way from PA as of this Sunday.

How easy were these to install and are the mounting brackets wielded to the bars?

The brackets are welded to the bars. They were pretty easy to install.

First, you pop out the plastic covers on the body mounting holes, and insert the J-Nuts into those holes.
Then, find a way to lift the bars up in approximately the right position and start threading in the 6 bolts (with washers) per side.
There is a little room for adjustment in the mounts, so line them up, and then tighten the bolts.
Enjoy your new side steps.

The hardest part was getting these held in place while getting the first couple bolts threaded in.

There's two reviews on amazon. 1) saying they are not a rock slider, which I believe is @monkeyracer review and 2) another saying there is a built in "rock slider" on the bottom. How true to a rock slider is that bottom piece being that its connected to the body and not the frame?

One guy I saw with those rock sliders lifted his whole truck...with a ROCK, with those. Aka, he had all the truck's weight on a rock with one.

I know of Rocky Road, but I've seen mixed reviews. If going with a true rock slider, Id rather have one custom made by an off road show down here in Cali. Particularly one that connects to the frame and not the rocker panel. Went with the tyger armor for now to hide my body lift.
