Interior lights

Who has changed the interiors on their 2nd Gen. I test drove a Silverado that had all LED interiors, and I am determined to change mine out. If you have, what bulbs were they, and any direction on how to access them, please and thanks.

I agree! I loved the Silverado's interior lights.

Okay guys! After multiple email exchanges with Precision LED, I convinved the support team to put the interior package on their site! He wanted to make me a special order, but I said you guys would most likely be interested as well. Also, use the coupon code winter18 to receive 18% off through 12/25. Enjoy!

Are the interior lights "instant on", or do they gradually come up to full brightness? The reason that I am asking is that a "constant current" LED replacement will not be dimmable, and that feature would be lost (they will be either on or off).

Thanks for the tip. I tried the search for Chevy Colorado and it doesn't show the kit for them. Wouldn't they be the same thing? I haven't heard anything different except on the exterior lights.

I played around with the interior lights in my Canyon last night. The front lens came off pretty easy with a putty knife. I worked the knife along the back side by the switches first. There are some pretty delicate tabs in there. Then I removed the front closest to the mirror last. It appears all 5 interior lights are T10 size, or W5W. I ordered some bulbs up and will report back as to how they work.

I ended up ordering two different kind of T10 LEDS from JTech on Amazon. I liked the price better, and you get 10 in a pack. I got two kinds. One is a flatter type, about the size of a nickel. The other is a little longer, closer to the shape of the stockers. Both fit. The flat ones are a little more blue, and not quite as bright. I like them both. I put the flatter ones in the 2 rear locations, and the outside map lights in the front. I installed the brighter whiter one in the center front. Overall, very happy. They do both dim out just like the stocks too. Each pack is only $8 shipped for 10 each!

Flat more blue ones

Longer brighter more white ones

This first 2 pics show stock on left, flat blueish led on right.

The last pic has the 2 flat on the left, one whiter led on right.

+1 On the write up! Thank you!

Do these bulbs replace all of the current interior bulbs? (Sun visor, bed lights, etc) Thanks!

You know, I didn't check the visors. I will do that tonight and report back. All 5 in the ceiling were these though, T10. Glad you enjoyed. Now maybe I have some more places for these leds since I have 20 of them lol.

As a side note. Both dome leses should be removed back of truck first. The back sides have tabs that latch front to back. The front sides of the leses both have latches that grab directly up. I used a putty knife and gently pulled the handle toward the back of the truck to pry the back sides off. WARM THE TRUCK UP FIRST. The plastic tabs are very brittle!

Any luck?

Looks like I'll be ordering a set of the white ones. I rode in a Silverado the other day and was sad my truck didn't have LEDs

I did take off one of the covers in the visor lights. They appear to be the 42mm festoon style bulb that looks like a fuse.

Kind of like these

Amazon.com: Cutequeen White 42mm(1.72") 8-SMD 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs 211-2 212-2 569 578 - White (pack of 8): Automotive Amazon.com: Cutequeen White 42mm(1.72") 8-SMD 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs 211-2 212-2 569 578 - White (pack of 8): Automotive

On another note, I changed my previous setup. I put all the flatter bluer ones in the 3 dome lights that operate with the door, and the whiter brighter ones in the two outside map lights in the front. This way I have the brighter ones on a switch if I need them. The 3 that come on with the door with the flat bluer one installed is a great look at night. Not too blue, but a very classy color. Reference the above links to amazon for what ones. I like them A LOT. They look just like the Silverado ones that I also loved. Shoot me any questions if you need any help guys. Big difference at night. Let me know if you do it and how you like them.

For the price, order both. They are just enough different that you will be able to fine tune what you like. You will have enough extras for all the neighbors too lol. I installed 4 of the whiter ones in my wifes Saturn as it turned out she had T10's too. Makes it look so much classier at night. Wait until you can get the cab really dark to decide what color you like. I thought I liked the whiter ones until it got dark, and they were almost too bright for entry. Nice to have them in the 2 map lights though. Enjoy guys, I love the new "glow" every time I enter the truck at night now. One of those cheap mods that you see all the time and are glad you did.

So I went ahead and ordered the interior lights!(

) I'll see how these look because if they look good, I'll order the other Cutequeen lights you recommended. I am a Prime member and I am looking to replace all the lights in our trucks with LED's. License plate lights, visors, third brake bed white lights. Possibly reverse lights.

Let me know how you like them. I love them once it gets dark, the glow inside is awesome. Either color is a huge improvement! Be sure to check out the writeup USAFquez just did before you install. He took some great pics and did it up nice for you to see.
