Remove light gray dash piece on 2015 colorado

Has any one removed the light gray (blueish if Z71) main dash piece yet? It feels like its a skin on top of main dash. I would like to paint mine. Is it simple or a pain? Thanks

Anyone ever figure out a solution for this? Want to buy the Z71, but would really like either the black Chevy dash, or ideally, swap in the GMC soft touch/contrasting stitch pieces.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

I had the dealer remove all of my door panels, dash trim piece, gear selector trim, and armrest trim, and replace with Denali pieces that I ordered. There are a number of threads on the removal of various trim pieces, and all that the dealer removed for me use that same retaining clip system.

I have all the Z71 pieces for sale in the classifieds: FS: Door Panels, Dash and Trim for 2017 Colorado Z71.

Trying to order OEM Denali seat covers, but two of the pieces remain on back order. Will post my Z71 seat covers for sale when and if I get all that accomplished. Soon enough, I will have about all of the Z71 interior for sale.

My truck is starting to feel like that Johnny Cash song "One Piece at a Time."
