quick update - the garage found 0 compression in cylinder 4 so I was in the engine business. One of the yards the garage reguarly uses had an engine with 80,000 miles on it and a three year unlimited mileage complete parts and labor warranty. Since I drive about 45,000 miles a year I won't have to worry about engine problems until this motor has over 210,000 miles and the rest of the truck has almost 350,000. Total cost for the engine and installation is $2,200.
