Loss traction in some soft sand and switched to 4WD and nothing. Just a message that said "Service 4WD" I had 2 Hi only and had to be pulled out. 4 months old and 5k miles. Has this happened to anyone else? It's at the Chevy Dealer now.
The following probably won't be of help to you, but here are some past 4WD shifting issues on the Twins.
There was a Recall regarding an issue some people experienced shifting out of 4WD, but I doubt it's the cause of your issue, that one was more of a cold weather issue.
Recall #15304 - In cold weather conditions it may fail to shift out of 4WD
Also some early Colorado's came with the incorrect selector switch installed from the Canyon, that had the "Auto" position. That's probably not your issue either.
On 2015 Colorado models with 4-wheel drive (RPO NQ7), the vehicle is not available with the Auto 4WD option. The Transfer Case Selector Switch should not have an Auto 4WD position.
Mine actually is an All Terrain Canyon so it does have the Auto position. The dealer has ordered a Servo and said it will be ready tomorrow. My loaner is a crew cab Silverado with the 5.3L V8 Very nice truck!
Had My Canyon into dealer several times for 'Service 4 wheel drive'. They reset alarm. They are very good at that. Finally GM tech support had them replaced servo mine was stuck in all wheel. This increased mileage HWY. 2, City 3. Now I know for sure that all wheel hurts mileage. Book agrees. Yes switch was in 2 high. Light for 2 wheel was lit. I could shift into 4 high and it worked. But never shifted back to 2 wheel just went to all wheel. Miss the lever I had on my jeep drove it 10 years an never had 4 wheel problem. Could see the lever and operate without having to look around a steering wheel.
