I would suspect that once in colorado you can simply title it and then register it there with no problem. In the mean time if the vehicle is not on the streets you are probably ok unless your are renting or your town has laws about unregistered vehicles being kept blah bla blah.... Bear in mind though if you intend to drive it to Colorado it would most likely be illegal, in all states you pass through, to drive this or any vehicle that is not currently and properly registered in the state of title. In essence even if certain things may not apply in a visiting state to a given vehicle, if the "home" state requires it it must be so.. Hope I explained this clearly enough.
