That was funnier when it was all caps but forum filters killed that apparently... lol back on topic.

Shortly after posting this thread I bought the package and started using it an hour later. Works great!

Most phones have tethering or hotspot (Iphone) which does this exact thing. Just a FYI :)

That's all well and good but the unlimited data plan I have on my iPhone does not allow tethering. Plus this is great for people who don't have unlimited data plans on their phones. Especially if they work out of their truck a lot.

Another plus, this should get service damn near anywhere. Something my phone does not have the capability of doing.

I currently have the 1 Gig plan and yes you have to be inside the vehicle to use it...or really, really close. Just got done driving back and forth to Colorado and it was really nice having it along the way. Personally, I can't justify the extra $10 for unlimited.

I am guessing we will never see that on this side of the border. We don't even have unlimited data plans on cell phones let along OnStar offering through their partners in their vehicles. If they did offer it I would sign up in a heartbeat.

Sorry, I had to laugh out loud at this. AT&T service isn't all it is cracked up to be. If this was a Verizon service, I'd jump on it.

I got locked out of my truck because I forgot my key fob at home and locked the key in the truck. That day I used the OnStar to unlock my truck. When I got on a job site, I had 4G LTE Verizon service on my phone, but no AT&T service so the OnStar didn't work. I even called OnStar and they coudln't unlock the truck. Luckily they paid for a tow truck to come unlock my doors. Needless to say that proved that AT&T doesn't have the coverage that Verizon has.

Looks like AT&Ts policy is to throttle after 22GB per month.

I just added it to my plan its throttled after 22gb i dont even use that much on my phone

this is totally worth it for me since my daughter uses the tablet i have from verizon to watch movies on trips to lake George and old forge, I will even be using it to play spotify from my phone its also good for my new google chromebook. Will save me from having to monitor my cell phone data usage since i have four people on my account

I have Verizon for my phone, and the AT&T via the truck wifi so I should have coverage of some kind in most places...

Right now the only internet we can get is with tethering to the iphone AT&T tower. We have 15 Gig for $40 2 phones total is 120. If We could use the hotspot from the truck sitting outside the TV room window I could stream lap top to Apple TV! So the signal could travel 30 feet? Why won't AT$T not allow unlimited....dang.

OnStar service agreement

It looks like the $20 unlimited is in addition to your existing plan. Opinions on these plans?

I'd like to see them up the $10.00 1GB plan to 4GB, I might go for that. I don't use it enough to need unlimited and I'm too cheap to pay $20 a month!

After only using the hotspot a couple times, the OnStar app is making a wild claim...
