Recall 38210 - Aero Shutters inoperative???

The dealer that took care of my Android update also told me there is a recall, and also they needed to order a module.

On my receipt I see that module ordered is 23365364, and the recall is 38210 for aero shutters.

Anyone know anything about this? Not sure why this module was ordered as my truck is working perfectly fine right now. Thanks!

Please gather as much info as possible so we can update this thread as a Recall thread and not a casual conversation thread.
Thanks.

This will be the second recall bulletin on the active shutter system.

In case anyone was curious.....I had to google it. I had read about this in my brochure but never really understood what it did.
Here's a video of a Chevy Cruz (2012) of them opening and closing.

Just ran my vin on the gm recalls site. And it said no current recalls for my 2016. My truck was built in December.

Will somebody with access compare the 38210 recall against P151E-00?

I know that thread (that's where I got the number)
I want to confirm if this recall is the same thing or if there is new.

I don't have access to all the VIN #, recall database stuff, etc that the owners have.

Don't know how much to trust the Gm site though. My shows up as no recalls on the website but my dealer called me about an active campaign for my truck that I need to bring it in for. So the GM site might not be that accurate.

That is because a campaign is not a recall, it is a service bulletin. A recall effects the safety of the vehicle. Title of this thread is inaccurate.

As most folks get them mixed up.

Recall is something that's mandated by the government - and for safety. A Recall is done for FREE regardless of vehicle age.

A TSB or 'Technical Service Bulletin' or often referred as a Service campaign is based on customer complaints. TSB's are not safety issues and are not regulated by the government. Dealers are not required to communicate TSB's to the owners and the dealers are not required to perform them - unless you pay for them. If you're under the factory warranty and want a TSB repair done - they are more likely to do this for FREE. But again - this could be a dealership decision. Before you allow a dealership to perform a TSB repair - make sure you are in full understanding whether or not it'll cost you anything.

I've had several TSB's performed for free on my last truck while under the factory warranty. Each dealership is different (for a variety of reasons).

This thread will remain a recall until somebody can actually come up with info.

Please, please-I big of somebody to share information. Why is this so difficult!?

How about the OP, call the dealership's service department that performed the work and ask what it is. You are apparently the only one that knows anything about this whatever it is thing.

We are on page #2 of useless information in what is meant to be a "don't forget to get this recall done".

I can't speak to this specific item. On my truck I received an email few months back on the wiring issue in the engine compartment that needed harness to be rerouted and zip tie installed.

The writeup stated that this was no charge during the warranty period. So some 'bulletins' may be free repairs at least during warranty periods.

Lot.of levels of what consumers may call a RECALL.

My appointment is today and I asked them if this is really a recall and they said yes, but it's not a safety recall.

It involves replacing the module with the part number I specified earlier.

Here is what I had done when I went in for the Android Auto update and an oil change.

Concern: Perform Open Recall; 18460 Radiator Support Fasteners missing threadlocker.
Correction: Apply threadlocker to radiator support bolts per recall

Concern: Perform Open Recall; 2038210 Aero Shutters Inoperative
Correction: Replalace Chassis Control Module per Recall
Parts: CH23365364

Dont know if is a help but mine has been completed.
