If the EPA goes bye bye???

So if the EPA goes Bye Bye, do y'all think they will remove the DEF crap and reprogram our trucks for us? I'm thinking it would be beneficial to the automakers to get rid of the biggest cause of repairs to any diesel motor in the last 10 years. What are y'all's thoughts on that?

Planned future regulations will potentially be reduced. Any current regulations already established will stay. DEF is here to stay.

Most dealerships make all their profits from the service department so I'm sure they're ok with it.

I also don't see them removing anything that is part of the partisan pendulum swings of regulation. Fuel standards will get rolled back but I haven't seen any talk for tailpipe emissions. Just smoke stacks cause coal is the energy source of the future...

Even if the EPA loses funding in some ways, it's not going away. Even if it goes away, it won't be a pollution free-for-all. There will no doubt still be emissions equipment and it will still be illegal to remove it.

Not to mention when this current administration is replaced, there is the possibility that the pendulum swings to the other way to try and correct the "wrongs" by the past administration. Making things worse than they already are. Be careful what you wish for...

LOL if you think the EPA will be absolved. Congress won't be playing ball anytime soon on that front. Defunding? sure. But the EPA isn't going anywhere anytime soon...

On a side note, I am not really sure why everyone even cares about it. It is YOUR vehicle. YOU bought it. Do WHATEVER you want to it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

In many states there are state regulations (driven by the EPA) that inspect specifically for environmental equipment.

I am OK with the existence of the EPA, but they do need to be reigned in a bit, as their power to prosecute and fine is pretty much limitless. It looks like a reigning in of their power will be their path, at least for the next four years, and I am good with that.

The EPA and many other agencies are out of control. They write the so called regulations to bypass laws/legislations based on political agendas. They are a mafia, just like the IRS. Corporations get rid of competion by sending the Agency Hounds. The Fed Gov is out of control with way too many redundant agencies; specialy in Law Enforcement.

The CO2 crapola is just BS to high heavens. Search on someone called Roger Revelle, the father of Global Warming; any hardcore greenie should know him. He debunked the whole thing in the 80s before he died and dismissed as a senile loon.

I am by far the most anti-global warming person, as well as the polar opposite of a tree hugger, however, Carbon Dioxide in increased amounts cause enormous problems upon plants and this planet. Anyone with a simple biology degree can tell you that. (oh, wait, that's me. lol)

I would not believe it is ALL BS ;)

DEF will be here until they come up with the next best thing. I wouldn't drive a DEF if you gave it to me. I'd put a free sign in the window and leave the keys in it.

The CO2 is a taxation witch hunt. There are ice cores found in the artic with more CO2 than we have today. Around the globe, volcanoes spew more NOx, CO and Sulfites than humankind ever produce. The earth goes on cycles and we are on what seems to be an ice age. Even the Antartic ice is growing according to NASA. At this point, all these electric cars are nothing more than a Carbon Credit Generator.

The whole global warming scare is nothing more than taxation scam.

Anyway, science now days is treated like a religion.... so you are in herecy by not believing in science.
