I left mine on thinking it would flex but it doesn't flex much before cracking.

Went to Hollister for some fun!
The tires on my truck are definitely not good for mud. It was like ice out there.

We were able to do one of the black diamond trails that was more like sand which had good grip but the green easy trails were pretty difficult when wet with these tires.

Someone needs to make a flush transfer case drain plug, it's all I could think about lol it's like

It was a fun day for sure

Nice video! But yeah definitely need to get some better tires I'm assuming those are the stock LT tires? Other than that looks like you had a blast out there.

Thanks, the music did a decent job at masking the wind noise which was quite annoying.
Yup, stock LT
Goodyear wrangler I think.

On the Potash road between Canyonlands NP and Moab.

All of these were from 2014 and 2015, I didn't take many pictures of the truck this year. The next photo isn't off road or in the snow, but it is the only one I have that shows the truck after I took the air dam off ( it was partially ripped from a rock or snow bank or something anyway) and ditched the crappy stock tires for General Grabber AT2s.

Tell me more about you're roof rack? Did you have to drill into the roof to mount it or is there a solution that has been productionized?

EDIT: Went thru his post history and found this thread which may answer any/all questions.

Got a chance to try it out in the snow.

1. Made the right decision to upgrade my tires to the Firestone Destination LE2 all season. The truck was able to climb a steep grade in 2 wheel drive. These tires are rated second (TireRack.com) to the Michlen LTX M/S, which is the best truck tire I have ever had. However, I went with the Firestone as they were $500 less.

2. I really wish these had the auto 4x4, as I really missed that feature in the snow. The traditional 4x4 is no fun in a parking lot, or making a turn. The auto 4x4 mode was so smooth and provided great control and confidence.

The twins are no doubt a highly capable truck, on or off road. I am sure the ZR is going to be a fantastic off road beast.

Fallen in love with my Collie like a 15yo's first girlfriend.

One more snow pic from after Winter Storm "Helena". It was -10F when this picture was taken in my work parking lot yesterday, and -18F on the way into work this morning. As usual, there are a few extra creaks when the truck is really cold, but no trouble starting and no trouble getting where I need the go.

San Jose Colorado ext. cab owner here too - Lasar Blue. Looking forward to getting out to Hollister sometime this spring myself! Looks like fun! Currently running on the OEM Goodyear AT's on the Z71 but will switch to something beefier in 265/70/17 size along with a 1.5" front lift by next winter.

It's fun and even more fun with a group. Hit me up if you ever want to head out or you can join this Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1228561467230783/
I'm still adding to my rescue collection.

Just purchased received this but it looks like I may have gotten sidetracked while shopping for an ax

Cool - thanks Mac. I joined the group. I don't check FB very often however. But would be cool to connect some time and go with a group - I am a newbie to offroad driving, but have lots of snow driving experience to lean on.

Technically not off-road - there's asphalt under there somewhere. Snowed about a foot, then the wind moved it around. Drifts around the neighborhood were 2'-3' deep. The truck pulled right out of this with a bit of wheel spin; first time I've felt the rear diff lock.
