Default Low Idle Speed/Check Engine Light

Ok, what is the normal idle speed for the 2005, I5, 3.5 crew cab (Z85)??
It hovers between 300-500 rpms and stalled often. The check engine light had been on for quite some time and I took the thing in yesterday - they pulled a code and replaced the map sensor - $276.00. Drove off the lot last night and no change in idle speed, check engine light off.
This morning driving to work the engine light is back on again.
I called the dealer this morning - they want to check the code again. But if all they do is check codes this could go on forever!
Thanks for any advice!

Most likely going to have to clean the throttle body, I had the same problems, and they were all fixed after I cleaned the TB.

There is an extensive write up on how-to, search that up.

thanks MarkEg. I do have a question on the 3ft tube. The instructions say to snake it to the throttle body and use a funnel for the seafoam. Where is the entry point for the tube?

^^ Pull out your air filter. Be careful with the seafoam.

Just take the TB off and clean it good with Carb cleaner. Its only 2 plugs and 4 bolts. Very very simple.

Ditto.

Its easier to clean it when you have it off too, you can get right in there.

Had the same thing happen with my 04 Z71 crew cab, had the fuel system i.e. throttle body and maf sensor cleaned and no more issues. Even seemed to have regained some power, maybe my imagination.
