I just had my Passlock turned off. The tuner wasn't positive that it would correct my starting problem but thinks it will. Only time will tell for sure. My Passlock light still comes on when I crank it and then goes out when the engine starts like it is suppose to. I sorta figured the light wouldn't come on anymore since the Passlock system was turned off. Does your Passlock light still come on when you start your truck too?

Re: Bypassing Passlock without using Remote Starter???

Gerry or James does anything other than Master Disable "Vats" need to be done in the tune file for this not to trip a SES Light? Also was a "Write Entire" done or just the standard "Write Calibration" HPTuners documentation on this is somewhat confusing on the newer vehicles.

I just want to clarify...

NO COLORADOS HAVE CHIPS!

04-09

GM does not put them in their keys...

I had the same issue, I replaced my key, and it kinda went away

The correct working of passlock:

Passlock icon SOLID until started (Safe)

Passlock icon FLASHING (Passlock is in RELEARN / LOCKOUT MODE) Wait 10 minutes then try again.

I tried the new key method and it KINDA worked for about one week.
Well the problem is now fixed since the Passlock has been turned off. Every once in a while the light will flash when I start the truck but the truck will start anyway even with the light flashing now. It still takes 10 to 12 minutes for the light to reset but in the meantime I am 10 to 12 minutes up the road instead of sitting in the driveway waiting on the Passlock to reset.

Re: Bypassing Passlock without using Remote Starter???

It will disable the passlock only. keyless entry will still work and so should the factory alarm.

Re: Bypassing Passlock without using Remote Starter???

I have an 04 coly and the 10 minute wait happens about 20% if the time and is driving me nuts....
Where can I get this done? Will dealers do it or do have to take it to an independent shop? Do all shops have an HP Tuner?
I live in San Diego.

Because I'm not familiar with the HPTuner and I suspect I'll would get some run around when I try to get the security bypassed, what specifically do I tell someone to do?

Like..... Use the XXX and disable the YYY using code ZZZ?

Can someone please tell me how to find a "tuner" where I live to disable this thing.
I know nothing about this sort of thing.
Thanks

I have a 2004 Canyon that is manual locks, windows and no alarm. I just got a remote start, do I need a bypass to use the remote start or can I use a remote start without the bypass? Please let me know!

Yes, you need some type of bypass module w/remote start. The windows & doors being manual only means you don't need to wire them to your remote system to function. A bypass module works with the starting function so it's required, no matter what additional your truck does/doesn't have installed.
