Default Tow Package

I just purchased a used 07 Colorado Extended Cab. It has a hitch. Does this mean it has the tow package? What comes with the tow package, increased cooling, Heaver Alternator?

Didn't the tow package include a full size spare tire?

Not necessarily. The hitch package is more than just the hitch itself. Could be the previous owner put an aftermarket hitch on. Does your wiring have just a 4-wire connector?

for model year 04 to 07 the receiver hitch is either a factory, dealer, or aftermarket installed accessory with a 4-pin trailer connector. The "tow package' wasn't added untill 2008 when the hitch was intergraded into the rear bumper with the 7-pin wiring connector.

Man I wish it came with a 7 pin and is prewired for a trailerbrake controller (the earlier models). but just the hitch and 4 pin is all you get. Adding an aftermarket transmission oil cooler is pretty easy, takes about 2 hours. Hardest part is making a bracket to mount it, or using the plastic push ties to go through the radiator.
