Default 2010 Colorado. Is this the last year?

If I want a Colorado 4X4 Crew Cab, I better get one this year? There are rumors that 2010 or 2011 will be the last year for the Model. True? I notice the Factory sunroof option available on the 2009 Model is no longer available. Now on the GM Web-Site They don't show a leather interior option?? Is GM slowly dismantling the Colorado? Is the Shreveport, LA plant even working? Any news you guys have would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Seems the Colorado/Canyon is on the kill list. I wanted a 2010 with the V8 and found it on the chevy site using "locate a vehicle". You can also find a bunch on Autotrader as a lot of dealers list their new vehicles there. You can refine the search to include any options you want. I found my V8 Black Crew Cab with leather in North Carolina and my dealer went and got it for me.

With today's announcement that Hummer will not be sold to Tengzhong, I would start looking for a new Colorado right about now. MY 2011 was an option year for Shreveport "if" Tengzhong was inclined to continue having the Hummer 3's for another year. Now that this won't happen, I expect GM will wind down Shreveport this model year ('10). What I think will happen is that they might do an extended run of '10 Colys and GMC's twin. They need to have ten years of parts inventory to accommodate their customers and possibly gov't rules. So, I can see a run up until summer 2011 for parts - maybe until this coming July (shutdown) for new Colys at the earliest (I'm guessing a build until Dec of '10).

I believe the GMC twin still carries leather seats as an option, just not the Chevy.

Here's a link I was reading up on - page 5 had some sales numbers for '08 and '09, plus a link for Autoblog's article on the possible demise of the Colorado: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...84/index5.html

The vultures are circling above I'm afraid...

From an artice in today's Shreveport Times:

"The Shreveport GM plant produced the Hummer H3 and H3T, in addition to the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.

GM suspended production of the H3 and H3T in mid-January. Officials said the company has no plans to shutter the local plant before the June 2012 target date announced last summer."

I guess as long as "plans" don't change, there will be 2011 and 2012 Colorados. Maybe...

If they would advertise the Colorado and the Colorado with a V/8 they would sell a lot more then what they do. I never see them advertised at all. And most of the people don't even know that they are putting a V/8 in them. I have had (3) S-10s and (2) Colorados and man I love these mid size trucks. I know they could sell the DAM things if they would just advertisem.

Currently I have heard that the plans are to develop a replacement for the GMT355. No info on where the plant will be. I just hope they don't do something stupid and make it front wheel drive.
