Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit

I have 6000 miles on my 2011 GMC Canyon 3.7L z71 2wd. I had the service light come. Being under warrenty I took it in for servicing. They changed parts number 20907779 (Hose), 19257603 (harness).

p0449 OEM code

Isn't this a little early for these parts to fail, or has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks!!!!
