Someone correct me if I'm wrong but Z85 is a sportier suspension package. The Offroad 4x4 decal is what they put on Canyons instead of actually putting a Z71 decal on it--I've got the same.

ZQ8 is the spot model. Z85 is the base package. The Offroad sticker is the same as a Chevy Z71. A few small modifications.

You can check in the glove box on the door when you flip it open. There are rows and columns of 3 digit codes. One will say either Z85 or Z71, representing which suspension package you have.

The two are the same as each other, so engine modifications will cross over directly. Shocks I think are different, and the truck sits a little taller on a Z71. The stock tire is also larger (265 I think) on the offoroad breed. Look at your door panel to see what the stock tire size is.

Z71/Offorad are the same, Chevy/GMC respectively.

Hey butch,

What's your plan with the exhaust you took off?

08Canyon is right, Z71 and Z85 have to do with the suspension and tire/wheel setup, thats all, also the Z71 has large fender flares. if you have the large flares and the "off road" sticker then my bet is you have the Z71 suspension... of course the previous owner could have added the decals and flares so your best bet is to look on the backside of the glove box door and see what you have

Had some courtesy money from dealer for accessories. Picked out chrome exhaust tip. Decided to let them install since pipe has to be cut. What should have been a 15 min job turned out to be an hour. They couldnt get the proper gap between top of exhaust tip and moulding on bumper. Had to pry down muffler to get it to fit. What an ordeal. Also had factory installed tonneau cover on 5 ft box. When i took delivery of the truck the cover was so tight it already stressed the catch and was rolled up and i never even was able to close it. Had new one instaled today and same thing. They had to grind down plastic to try to make it close and now it closed but its tight as a drum and tremendous pressure to close it down and latch it. So im leaving it closed and hoping vinyl stretches out so it works easier. The guy said he instaled a few of them and never saw it like this. Same deal as one they took off so not sure what thats about. I do like the truck though. Only wish is that it had steering wheel mounted controls for radio. Other then that i love it and get lots of compliments. Had it now for about 3 weeks. 2012 4x4 crew sle2 with off road suspension, chome tube steps, chrome gas tank door, onyx black which i think is the sharpest with the chrome accents.
