Three days left then take out and measure again. So far so good. They are secure in my pockets and have been on a 1000 mile, 85mph wild change in weather, 2 car washes, and temperature fluctuation. Literally saw, 80 deg days full sun to snow and hail. They are still there. More very soon.

The stake hole is what I put my hand in when using the step bumper. Why would anyone want to plug it? Seems silly to me. What's next covering the holes in the step bumper?

Jimsc, for me it was to cover a switch that I have in the stake pocket that is there for my bed lighting. That and keep the trash out that people seem to think is funny to stick in there when walking through a parking lot. So..... Yes..... for us the stake pocket cover is quite functional. I personally have no need to grab inside the pocket to pull myself up as the only time I will be getting up there, the bed cover will be open and I can use the side of the bed.

Some want it just for the aesthetics to keep everything tidy on the truck. I don't judge. Just something I have thought up and designed and with a friend printed. Showed it on here and the rest is history. To each their own and do what is right for you :)

I won't be filling in the holes in the bumper. I love those steps.......... and I have LED lights in there tied to my backup circuit :)

DasGoob, please put me down for a set of flush plugs as well. I really only need the very back two near the tailgate as I have the sport bar.

Thanks in advance.

Front Stake Pocket Plugs Desired

Hi DasGoob,

I'm new to the forum here (first post). I'm curious to know if you have plugs available for the front pockets (toward the cab)...? I noticed another post in this thread asking about cutting out the pocket knock-outs, and in fact, I did just that with a utility knife.......easy-breezy.

I did this in an effort to gain easier access to the inside of the pocket to route my BakFlip "downspouts"......mission accomplished!........and I thought I'd simply leave the pockets open, BUT I've noticed some water leakage into the bed under certain conditions...... SO, now I'd like to plug the pockets, but to my surprise, there doesn't seem to be any nifty accessories for this application on the market.

Incidentally, I measured the pocket as about 1-5/8" X 2-5/8".

What about tie down rings for last generation silverado, think they would fit? I want the front open to use for when I put something large on top of the bed cover (like a mattress) which is hard to secure the front, had to go through the slider last time.

Something like this:

BullRing for Colorado/Canyon

As a matter of fact, I stopped at a local "Off Road / Custom Truck" shop and experimented with the various models of BullRings. None seemed to fit. All were too big..........almost got one stuck in my stake pocket.

I thought about calling BullRing to see if they have any plans to design one for our trucks...

For now, I ended up with the generic chrome type...
