Ford F-150 3.0L

Looks like Ford is putting a 3.0L diesel in the F-150 paired with a 10-speed transmission. They haven't release the details but I'm sure it will beat the Ram's Eco-diesel which packs 240hp and 420lb-ft of torque and 29 MPG highway. Wondering if GM will make any big changes to the Twins. It would be pretty embarrassing to have a midsize truck get worse HP, torque AND MPG then a rival 1/2ton.... Not that I would ever be catch dead driving a Ford, but curious to see how GM response now that they are the only ones without a 1/2 ton diesel planned (out of the big 3). It's a shame they shytcanned the 4.5L Duramax.

I hear that motor is a nice power house....
But I really like the size of my little diesel. it's nice for parking and city driving when i need it.

I got rid of my old 99 silverado for it 9 months ago. and now 2 co-workers have new F150 and a Silverado, and they just seem too big after getting in the new full size trucks. But that 3L in the Ford would really be nice.

I prefer the size of the Colorado, and think that the Baby-Dmax could easily put out 200hp and 400lb of torque. Then mate it to a perfect shifting 8-speed. GM would have nothing to worry about.
