2008 Colorado 202k Miles - MI to FL Vacation?

I've owned my 2008 Colorado for six years and it is well maintained. I have over 200,000 miles on it and she runs great. Just curious what the group thinks about driving it on vacation? When we drive to Florida from Michigan all together, we put about 3000 miles on. I'm taking it because I want a vehicle for the kids to drive when we are down there and renting one is too expensive. They'll likely take it to Disney or some other park.

Thanks

I do not see any problem with your trip. I have another Chevy here with 228 K that I'll be taking to Alaska later in the summer. I need to replace a pitman arm and a couple of rear shocks before I go. It is only a little over 4k miles one way.

Go for it.

Garage
You know in your heart if the truck will make it or not being the owner. My 05 had almost 400k on it when I sold it and it's still going now with over 425k on it, so from my point of view you aren't even half way done with that one. LOL.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to have it at least looked over by a mechanic before going and doing any necessary routine maintenance on it if needed, like oil change, coolant change, etc.

Highway driving tends to a bit easier on the mechanics then stop and go traffic. Also look at getting a membership with AAA or through your insurance company should you have trouble on the road.
