no eletric doors but onstar can...

I don't have electric locks but onstar can unlock my doors. So my questions is can I some how add key less entry without much moding?

If you dont have power locks - OnStar can't unlock your doors. That "function" of OnStar only works if you have factory power locks.

Better put on your flame suit buddy... its about to get warm in here.

Clearly you are a noob without a clue because its not possible for your doors to just majically open on their own if you dont have actuators in the doors to open them. Since you have a WT and yourself claimed that you dont have power locks - one of a few things has happened:

1) Some guys in black suits with dark sunglasses showed up, opened your door with a spare key, then wiped your memory clear of their arrival.

-OR-

2) you are smoking some good weed.

-OR-

3) your doors were never locked.

-OR-

4) it happened in a dream.

Otherwise - with the way that OnStar works, you HAVE TO HAVE POWER LOCKS FOR THEM TO BE ABLE TO UNLOCK YOUR DOORS.

Re: no eletric doors but onstar can...

What's to know? From Onstar literature:

"Remote Door Unlock requires (AU3) Power door locks." Is that RPO code in your glove compartment?

+++small edit+++

They can do it, but they have to send out a roadside assistance crew, which they will do if asked.

I never said that WT trucks dont have power locks.

I was stating the fact that he has a WT (which do NOT come standard with power-locks; implying that it is an opt-in option) and that he specifically stated that his truck does not have power locks indicating that his WT does not have that option - thus making the possibility of OnStar remotely unlocking his truck impossible.

the men in black

I wish onstar could unlock my doors because i would hack their system and put switches and keyless entry.

BTW If you decide to forgive burn........ he has a great "how-to" on installing electric locks

I don't want to sound like a dick but...;)

You know what I thought maybe you where right so I locked my doors I double checked then called onstar and told then then I did not have power locks and they told me it would not work. I then asked them to try anyways and it worked. The woman on the other line was amazed and very confused. I was as shocked as you.

I'm not trying to be a dick either but there's something here that doesn't add up. Either you're making crap up to mess with people or your understanding of the vehicle is wrong. Onstar can't open a lock without a motor to do it. It also can't pop open the hood, lock the glovebox or inflate a tire. So these questions sound kinda retarded, but there must be an explaination.

Did you buy the truck new or used?
How do you lock your door? With a button? Where is it?
How do you lock the passenger door? With a button? Where is it?
What RPO codes are in glovebox?
Is it possible you have "power locks", and no one gave you the "remote" for the "keyless entry"?
Do you have a window sticker from it? What does it say about power stuff?
Is there a keylock cylinder on the doors?

He's leaving out the part where the roadside assistance guy shows up and unlocks it.

Re: no eletric doors but onstar can...

First off if had some weed I'd be smoking it but I don't...

and for the answers

Did you buy the truck new or used? New but had 1500miles on it...weird
How do you lock your door? With a button? Where is it? No buttons I have to lock mine with a little flip thing next to the handle (not electrical) Then I have to reach over and lock the passengers.
How do you lock the passenger door? With a button? Where is it?
What RPO codes are in glovebox?I'm not sure what that is but if you explain I can look.
Is it possible you have "power locks", and no one gave you the "remote" for the "keyless entry"? This could be but why no button to lock both doors?
Do you have a window sticker from it? What does it say about power stuff?I can look at this tomorrow...
Is there a keylock cylinder on the doors?yes both doors have a key hole and thats how I get in...

I know this is some weird shit...and I have a lot of stuff thats weird...My free onstar for one year is up and it has been less than 3 months... I have the wrong owners Manuel..(not a big deal but...)automatic lights...with manual windows and doors...

If you guys want tomorrow I can make a video showing you everything and show you when onstar unlocks it. Also onstar only unlocks the driver door?(if that helps)

The only thing I can come up with is maybe the truck had power locks or something and the dealer changed it for some very strange reason...

I don't blame you guys for not believing me. I honestly wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eye twice!
