Default Install cruise control 2004 Colorado?

I just picked up a 2004 Colorado (sold the 1998 s10). I'd like to install cruise on the truck. I found a guy on ebay selling cruise control for 2005+ and seller says that 2004 doesn't have drive-by-wire and requires a different unit then the 2005+.

Anyone know if its easy to install cruise on a 2004? I'd prefer OEM module but after market is ok i guess. Thanks!

^ You can install cruise control units on vehicles without them, but it's a bit of a risk doing it yourself therefore I'd have a professional look at it.

If it's for a 2005+ only, I'd look into a different unit that's suited for the 04.

Wait, cruise was an option for 2004? I thought it was standard...

All I can say is that there's no cruise control on the 2004 I have....

Here are 2 that I found:

OEM: http://www.thecruisecontrolstore.com/ez ... 183/D6271c

Aftermarket (appears to use wireless): http://www.thecruisecontrolstore.com/ez ... -1774%20CC

I don't mind doing the install, I can handle that. I just dont know what part#s I need or if there are any compatibility issues with the 2004 model year. The seller at the above store said both would work for the 2004. I would prefer the OEM vs. aftermarket.

Anyone actually add cruise to an 04 (or newer)?

I had a 2004 Z85 4x4 LS and it came with cruise control. It was an option then. I think it came with the power convinence package. All the higher end models that year had it.
