Hey guys,
I'm in the market for a bull bar. I think they're a great way to mount lights, but the only problem is that most of the ones I've seen either mount up to the factory tow hooks or is installed in a way that the tow hooks are completely useless. Are there any bull bars that still allow the use of the factory hooks? I know the hooks leave something to be desired, but I'd still like to have access to them if it ever came to it... SuspensionMaxx makes the BullMaxx bullbar. it can be mounted in such a way that the stock tow hooks can still be used.
![]() ![]() ![]() Disclaimer: my BullMaxx was custom ordered. they normally use a mounting block ot mount them to the frame so no cutting of the plastic is needed. Official BullMAXX Thread w/Prices and Options! (Updated July 2011) - Chevrolet Colorado & GMC Canyon Forum

The Westin bull bar isn't as heavy duty, but will take out a deer at 65 mph while protecting the grill and bumper. If you leave off the mickey mouse 'skid plate' you will have access to the tow hooks.

The Westin mounting brackets are pretty solid. I didn't like how they bolted up - lots of slop because the frame holes are larger than the bolts - or the thin-walled tube or the lack of bracing other than at the bottom. However, one mashed deer showed me the Westin bull bar is good enough for me!
