NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

I need to know where and what color wire the voltage output wire is. Im rewiring my N2O system today and would like to go to the track thursday. Im going from a push button to WOT activation because its less of a pain. Any help???

I dont know which wire but I'm curious on how you plan to do this.

Because most relays I know of have leeway in the voltage needed to trip it. So it might trip early when you are not a WOT.

my nitrous management unit is programable. you leave the system unarmed with the ignition on (but not running) and while my buddy holds it at WOT i release the program button so it knows your cars WOT voltage. I have it hooked up to a button from a 12V lead and programed it when the button was held down.

I see.

Never seen the electronic one yet.

I'm sure someone here might have the wiring.

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

I know we have an electronic throttle, so most likely (I am not at my truck or near my service manual) there is no TPS. I looked it up on partsamerica(Advance Auto Parts) and didn't find one made for our trucks. It might be different for each engine, but there has to be something going to the TB to detect voltage. Just look around the engine bay.

i know there is not seperate TPS from the actual throttle. I figured it was intergrated with the throttle itself. i just need to know which wire from the throttle body it is. there is 6-8 wires going to the throttle body.

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

Uh we know we have a electronic TB.

He wants to know exactly what wires feed the voltage needed so he can tap into them.

I doubt he wants to be cutting and guessing.

*edit

Damn he beat me to it.

Your Throttle position sensor signal 1 is going to be a green wire in pin A of your Throttle body.
Should do what you need.

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

you might have to do a detent switch on the pedal assy. prolly a safer option so you dont mess up the computer and cause a no fuel situation.

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

Can anyone else see the PCM commanding the throttlebody to full open and the nitrous kicking on unexpectedly?

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

Another option, possible safer, would be to actually use the signal from the pedal instead of the TB.
Dark Blue wire, pin 3 on the pedal is the Pedal position 1 signal.

Re: NEED TO FIND Throttle Position Sensor Wire for WOT Switch

I would think using the signal from the TB would be fine as long as he's using a digital window switch as well.

If you can't afford to do it right, then how can you afford to do it twice?

well its raining here so i didnt get to go to the track or wire the system up. CPWire..that doesnt sound like a bad idea. pedal position kinda makes more sense.

i have a window switch from NOS. i was waiting to get it activating by FBW.

damn these trucks and their crazy wiring and electronic throttles!!!!

i remember before our truck came out, i was laughing at the mini cooper for having an eletronic gas pedal...this is exactly why

i dont have anyreduced power problems or CEL now although i pluged in my scan tool and it read the pedal voltage was screwed up. but all is functioning correctly. thanks again CPWire

^^^^^Let's say your driving on the street and you go WOT, would the nitrous work, or would you have to have the nitrous armed in order for it to work?

you have to have the system armed. i have the power source to my nitrous management unit (nmu) run through the arming switch to the battery. the nmu injects the fuel and nitrous when it recieves the signal from the TP sensor, or in my case the gas pedal positioning sensor. its an easy system to hook up (only 3 wires from the nmu)
