Nice! I made it on to the database

I say one of the mods should make this post a sticky and get rid of all the other senseless posts about exhausts

Well. I just got tired of digging through not just threads but posts trying to compare exhaust systems. Thought this would be easier for you all.

i must say that letting the truck idle and reving the the engine does not justify what the truck is going to sound like at cruising speed. There is a diffrence, all depends on what rpms you are running at. What i have gathered from my own opservations on when my truck sounds the "badest" is when i'm around 1500rpms and in overdrive, that is at the point where the engine is lugging the highest gear ratio which gives more pull on the engine and the fuel ratio is closest to 14:7 which is lean. A lean fuel ratio give the low throaty sound. When you are accelerating more fuel is added and you get a higher ricer sound or more of a crackeling sound. I am thinking that with larger exhaust and a cold air intake that removes the resonater box gives the truck a throatier sound too. This is all a direct result from the type of fuel system in these vehicles which is "CATALIST FEEDBACK FUEL SYSTEM" Do a search i've all ready dug up the info on this fuel system. If you want see for your self where i got that name, go to your chevy dealer or GMC and look at a brand new truck and look at the white tag that give you buyer info about the truck. Look for the BIG FUEL pump in the middle of the page at the bottom and read the info in smaller print. The last sentence will tell you the fuel system used.
Have fun.

Put the tail gate cable through the camera strap. At least you're sure it wont fall off.

I installed a Gibson cat back duel system at the beginning of the summer.
I got tired of the interior noise so I just purchased a dynomax super turbo. From everything I have read the dynomax is not as loud as the Gibson.
I intend on keeping the Gibson duel pipes.

I just installed a 50 series delta flow, single in single out (center inlet) exhaust. Part # 942550. It sounds extremly throaty and has a DEEP tone at high and low rpms, i like it a lot. Ive done a lot of reaserch on these exhausts and found that this would be the exact sound I need. I was going to install the super 40 but found that a lot of you guys on the site were complaining about too much noise in the cab and sounding a little ricey at high rpms. I would highly recomend purchasing the 50 series delta flow.

PS The clip in the database sounds good but in person the exhaust sounds freekin awsome.

The way it sounds to me is that the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta flow is the way to go. It is just real hard to trust the computer though. Were there any other mods to the exhaust system?
