i got a 2008 colorado wt and it came with a lil 2.9 4 cylinder, is there any way to make it faster without dropping another engine in it? i figured just buy a aftermarket intake and throttle spacers but what else can i do? anything helps

What do you mean by faster? Quicker acceieration or top speed?
The top speed is programed into the engine controller to about 98 mph, it can be removed by having reprogrogramed which you could also get programed for more performance.

Put on an intake...

Swap the exhaust....

Gut the cat(s)....

Screw the throttle body spacer - waste....

Super/Turbo charge it....

Add some spray...

Get a tune...

ok thanks and i wanna put a 5.3 in it but i dont plan on keeping this truck real long because im handing it down to my lil bro in a few years so i rather save my money and buy something bigger and beter but in the mean time a 2.9 aint cutting it
