Your buddy is correct. They will need to be bored out to 101mm(I think) in order to fit

the Colorado and the Silverado do not share the same bolt patern. yes both are 6lug but the distance between the studs is smaller on your truck. however, hummer h3, trailblazer, saab 9/3 and a couple other vehicles used the same chassis. those rims will fit.

If your talking 355... Yes they will fit... Center must be bored as GreDap stated... I think to 100 mm

Just one more reply, why not.

Yes the bolt pattern is in fact the same. Just to clear that up. But as others have stated, the hub bore is too small and will require a larger diameter, or wheel spacers but I can't remember the minimum thickness.

I do not believe a trailblazer wheel will fit and I am clueless about the H3, although they share many components. I'm sure you won't be installing a SAAB wheel so I won't go there.

There was one on clist that had Silverado rims on it. No lift I think he said he got some rub but nothing too crazy.

Rims off many Toyotas and Lexus will fit because of their large hub openings and same bolt patterns.

Mine are off a 2010 Lexus GX60.
