Can I put P235/75/15 tires on a Z71?

I have a 2005 GMC Canyon 2wd Z71(off-road). The tires I have now are a P265/75/15 and my brother has a set of P235/75/15 that he's giving me. Will these tires fit?

Will they fit? The answer is yes. But, should you? Hmmmm

There is a 1.77 inch diameter difference and a 1.18 inch difference in width. Its definitely a smaller tire and will throw off your speedometer as well.

As a rule of thumb I personally would not go past 2 sizes from the original ones but, Im not a tire expert. Hopefully others will chime in here and give their opinions.

They will fit on your wheels.

They'll drop your truck almost an inch - is this an issue for you.

They are plenty big enough for the weight of the truck, not long ago, they were a standard size on full size trucks.

You need to run slightly higher pressures in them than you do with the 265s - about 12% higher, for example if you normally run 30 psi, you should run 34 psi in the smaller tires.

You can. It will throw off your speedometer, and your engine will rev higher to at highway speeds.
