Chrome door handles yeah or nah

Who has them? Pictures? Down falls. Thinking about adding them to my dark green extended cab. It's to dark on the outside. Think it would look decent to accent the chrome grille and bumpers. But I don't like tacky add ones though.

Not for me. My Colorado is black with chrome around the grille and fog lamps, so I'm not opposed to chrome accents. But when I added the GM assist steps I got the all-black rectangular ons, not the ones with chrome on the ends.

I guess I'm too old but I just can't get on that "I hate chrome!" bandwagon. I did get black wheels and I'm ok with them but I sure can't stomach the flat black look either. It looks like some kid got crazy with a rattle can to me. But that being said, I think those chrome door handles are a bit much. Just seems a little tacky to me. Maybe the ones for the mirrors?....?... naw on second thought no if they are already color matched to the truck. How about chrome nerf bars? That might do the trick.

I have them on my Cyber grey truck, and i think they look awful. Once i get my camper shell ordered my first major mod mission is to get rid of all the awful looking chrome bits. Grille, rear bumper, handles and mirror caps, its all gotta go.

chrome is THE way to go. sharp looking accents on a dark color truck.
or black accents/emblems on a white truck. HOT!!
midnight editions look good too! only color i don't like is the dark green
and the hideous tan/beige on a taco

doesn't really matter what others think...unless they're paying for it

I have chrome handles on my black 2016 Canyon SLT. I don't mind the look, but don't know if I'd add them if the truck didn't come with them. IMG_20161112_081329934.jpg

I'm old too and I personally like some chrome, my truck only has the chrome piece on the front bumper and the grille, everything else is either body color or matte black on my truck form the steps, to the tailgate handle, to the bed cover. I though about the handles as well and I won't say I wouldn't try them but if I don't like them, then there is trying to get them back off.

I don't like chrome, I think it looks awful no matter where it is.

The only chrome I like is Google Chrome and my Chromebook.

My Isuzu Impulse had no chrome at all, which was unusual in 1984. I liked it, but I don't insist on it. My black Colorado with a little bit of chrome looks better than the Midnight Edition. If it weren't black, it would be different.

I think that looks pretty sharp on your truck. I wouldn't add it to my blue Colorado, but it looks good on the dark Canyon.

I have chrome on my LT on the front grill, mirrors, door handles and rear bumper. I even swapped my Colorado tail lights for Canyon tail lights because I think the chrome accents on the Canyon tails better fits the scheme of my truck:

JBT, Kokiri and aver3 like this.

Chrome and more chrome. It's the main reason I ordered an SLT. When 2017 parts come available, I will be ordering the Denali fog light trim.

My SLT has the chrome handles and I don't mind them against the cyber grey. Like Rad said, if they didn't come on the truck it probably isn't something I would have added.

I don't mind chrome accents but it can quickly be overdone.

A lot of chrome haters out there. Decades ago, I couldn't imagine such a thing. Obvious few people would want chrome on a Colorado Z71 Trailboss style truck. I think the more chrome the better on Canyon SLT and Denali trims. It would be interesting to see a poll on this to see how much this is affected by different age groups. Of course chrome has it's limits. 1958 was the year that cars were considered to have too much chrome, even the Corvette. Have a look at some pics of certain '58 Buicks to see what I mean.

I like the bumpers, mirrors, door handles, and tailgate handle to not be the same color of the truck, black or chrome is ok for me.

I had a Titan withe Chrome handles and they looked good on that truck. I think they are fine. I prefer paint matched handles. Chrome looks much better than the flat black plastic handles on base models for sure. I really like the fact that the only Chrome on my truck is in the center Grille and the lower piece where the recovery hook are located. That is the prefect amount of Chrome for me. If I had chosen the SLT the Chrome handles go well with that trim as it has more chrome all around.

I just saw a White Canyon CC with a bunch of chrome, grill, handles, mirrors. It looked really nice. I was a little jealous. I know yours in a dark color so I don't know. I thyink chrome goes good with white though. Crap, I might have to buy new wheels......

Me too.
But I don't mind it on classic 50's cars/trucks.... than you know its the real stuff not this plastic garbage they have on vehicles now.
I wish the denali had NO CHROME.

So far i got rid of my chrome window trim via a swap, and plasti dipped my rear badges and put the black overlays on my grill for my GMC all terrain. now i just need to ditch the chrome nose.
