Gen 2 seats in Gen 1 Canyon

I did not find the answer when I searched the forum. Does anyone know if 2015-2016 bucket seats will fit in a 05 canyon also with bucket seats?

I don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if they did. I do know that the bucket seats from the Hummer H3 were a popular swap for the Gen 1 twins. Happy hunting, I haven't seen this question on the forums before.

with enough $$ and fab time, you can make them fit. Have at it, write it up and let us know

Don't do it, the Gen 2 seats are nowhere near as comfortable over the long haul, my opinion. The one thing I miss about my old truck.

Anything will fit with enough fabrication behind it. One thing I miss about my old 07 is the bench seat with fold down center console. If you have that I would re-do it. Just sayin'

There is no 2nd gen with a bench like that is there?

No bench front seat in Gen 2.

Worked in a machine shop with a guy who said as long as he had a torch and a welder, any engine would fit in any vehicle. I am sure he would say the same about the seats. We did spend a bit of time putting those Mercury Marquis power seats in his old Ford pickup.

I am guessing the Gen 2 seats in decent shape even out of a wrecked truck are going to run you at least $1k, knowing what junk yards (oops, excuse me, salvage suppliers) are charging for some mundane parts. Mounting the seats is probably an all day affair if you are good. Run some power, another couple of hours. All to find out whether you like the seats are not.

Go test drive the 2nd Gen for an extended period. The assessment of the seats are all over the place from love to hate, with a general bias toward hate, until the owner sits in a Taco.

I would find and install some Leather Gen I seats before installing Gen II seats. I also miss the comfort of my 2010 Colorado LT leather seats. Our daughter now has the truck and says she can not believe how comfortable and supportive the 2010 seats are. She likes them better than her 2009 Saturn Aura XR leather seats which also are very comfortable.

Hi I am new to forum in search of some quick advice on this subject. I am about to purchase a 2007 Colorado lt1 with standard s60/40 split cloth. For medical reasons i need a power bucket prefer at least 6 way. I had located some 2015 power seats but after running across discussions on here kinda making me 2nd guess. Anyway would you reccommend searching for 2010 LT leather at boneyards or What is my best option? I need to know this week.

Thanks Pete
