2005 sound system setup under seat for crew cab

Hey guys, here is my setup for my sound system I used in my 05 crew cab. I installed it in the summer but I haven't had the chance to show you guys because of school.

After researching on here for hours, I went ahead and purchased a box on eBay even though I heard it required minor modifications. I installed 10inch shallow mount pioneers subs and used polyfill to stuff the box.

First, I had the front legs of the rear seat trimmed off (the metal part that sticks out in the shape of a L, see second picture). That increased the width of the space under the seat.

I also used 6 washers on the front legs of the seat and 2 on the rear legs to raise the seat. I was still able to tighten down the seat on all four legs.
After those two minor modifications, the box fit snug under the seat. I purchased two grill covers for the subs because they made the seat rattle if I had too much bass. The grill covers fixed that problem.

Here are the two modifications: the washers and the leg base trimmed. If you check out your the legs on your seat you will see what I am talking about.

The sub grill covers. Clamps weren't need because it was a tight fit under the seats. The covers has rubber coating on the diameter so it won't scratch the subs.

Leg space isn't compromised.

For those of you guys who are considering doing this set up, let me know if have any questions.

I cut the OEM grill the day I took these pictures. Since then I have purchased 6in covers on ebay and I spray painted this past weekend to match the truck.

I looked up installation instructions on this box a couple weeks ago, the long side of the box is supposed to go toward the rear of the cab, other than maybe some washers, you shouldn't of had to cut the legs

How tall is the sub box? I'm looking to mount a 10 1/4" tall box below the seat.

I doubt you will get an answer. This thread is over 3 years old.

Oh my bad. I saw someone post in April of this year so I figured it was still somewhat relevant.

Didn't have to cut the legs on my seats to fit, after the washers to pick it up, was able to bolt the seat back down, though it presses HARD on the grilles, but now I have the issue of the latches in the back of the seat rests lining up with the hooks on the back wall, this raises the seat about an inch higher than the hooks on the wall that they latch on to? How did you fix this problem?

Why Start a New Thread When We Can Up-date This One

I used the ASC Dual 10" Subwoofer Custom Fit Sub Box Speaker Enclosure (4 ¼” Tall”), with 2 PIONEER TS-SW2502S4 10-Inch, 1.200 Watts Shallow-Mount Subwoofers “Mounting depth: 3-1/8", Power by a Hifonics BRUTUS Amp.
Foot Notes:
1. Holes are too small for these speakers. "Off setting is required when enlarging the holes"
2. Removing the carpet under the sub-box is required.
3. Bolting the box down is not required. But should be done for safety purposes.
4. Shimming the front legs is required. One nut works just fine under each front leg.

This is the exact setup I'd like to do for my truck.

Can you link me to the box you used?
Where did you mount the amp?
How much did you have to enlarge the holes?
