Rear Speaker Problem

I have a 2010 Colorado LT V8 extra cab truck. I have a problem with my rear speakers. When I turn the rear only speakers on there is very little volume on them. The front ones go loud but rear is almost not there. What can I do to fix this.

This is the first time I have heard this.

I do not remember my crew cab, full 4-doors (I don't know hat you mean by extra cab) factory speakers being quiet in the rear when they were stock.
Are the rear speakers still quiet when you sit in the rear, or is it only quiet because you're up front?

I believe the factory speakers have identical output at each corner in my crew cab. Each of them are like 8w max and are the same size. Unless your radio is failing and not outputting enough power to the rear channel.

A fix, I can't say there is one since I haven't seen this in my own vehicle.

Oh, have the speakers been replaced in the rear? Perhaps a previous owner installed new rear speakers of a high wattage and the factory radio isn't strong enough to make them sound as loud as that speaker is meant to play. Typically, a 200w rms won't run good on an 8w radio, for example.

Last night I went for a ride in the truck. I put the fader from front to back again and very little volume in the back. I was out for around 3 hours in and out of the truck. At the end of the evening the truck was off and I turned the ignition on but didn't start the truck. I was listening to the radio. I turned the fader to rear and I had volume. It was like normal. The rear doesn't sound as nice as the front, maybe the tweeters in the front doors make the sound better. On my way home I tried it again while driving and it is good. Today I tried it again and the sound was ok. I sat in the back with the rear only, the sound in the back is not as nice as the front. I stayed in the back and changed the fader to front and back in the middle of the line and the sound is better in the back with the front working. Now I am happy. Don't know what it was. The speakers are the stock ones with stock radio. Love the truck.
