It's the old Kickers argument...some people like em...lots of people dislike em. Personally, I think if you're not exclusively listening to rap they're not a great subwoofer...but that's just my opinion...don't lay into me TexasXtreme for stating an opinion...it's just MY opinion.

You make it sound like I'm a Kicker fan.

If I was to post "my feelings" on every thread about brand A versus brand B, I would have 20,000 post.
I was razzing CanyonAB not because I disagree with him, but because I tend to believe in the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say...."
While I do not care for Kicker, I will not tell somebody that runs Kicker that the subs they choose sound like trash.
Kicker would not be one of the top seller of subs if they didn't have a market place. They are priced reasonable and get loud and that is what their target customers want.
Now here's a real shocker....JL Audio products are very good but are over priced for what you get. But if they are so over priced who would ever fall into that trap and buy them.
My point is that every manufacturer has it's place. If there was a one sub fits all then why are there some many companies.

Some of the best Audio products made are never mentioned around here.
*They are not household name brands.
*You can't find them locally.
*None of your buddies have ever heard of them.
*You have never heard how they sound.
*People look at you funny when they ask what you are running.
*You don't get the Wow look when you tell them you got 2 Kickers or 2 JL's.
*They just say "never heard of them" and figure you lack knowledge of what's really good.

There is nothing wrong with anybody giving their opinion and that's why people ask.
We have gone through this many times over the years and I hate to see threads repeating that there is only one choice.

I'll shut up now and go back to deleting Spammers.

The ones you have are coaxials...components have a separate tweeter not built into the larger woofer, and nicer ones generally have a crossover unit =P
I don't think many companies make subs as small as 6.5" yet, or at least I haven't seen very many...I haven't really been looking too hard into subs that small though...

The MB Quart PVI164 should be cheaper than the JL Audio 6W3v3-4. And the mounting depth is only 2.5".
It is considered more of a mid bass, but might sound good up front?

Found one here for $100 (I have ordered from them before, good quick delivery.)
