I'm thinking I have a bad intake manifold gasket. My last two oil analysis reports say the oil has really high dirt levels and I'm now getting the P0106 DTC Code, Low RPM, and engine missing @ idle. I've checked everything up until the throttle body and no air leaks were found there. Does anyone have the procedure for removal of the heat shield and manifold and about how much time is involved with removal/install? That plastic cover (Heat Shield ?) looks like it can be a botch to remove...
Thanks, Matt |

Thanks for the link, that should definitely help... From the pics it looks like most of the work will be rather simple. The only part I'm not sure of is the removal of the large plastic shroud covering everything on the drivers side of the head? Looks like that's the only part not covered in the pics?
Thanks for the welcome! Cheers, Matt |

The large plastic shroud you refer to is actually the outer portion of the intake manifold.
Keep us posted on how you make out.

That plastic covering is very hard to remove from the manifold when i did my clutch the first time i tried to take it off gentlly with out breaking it, no go it broke, so i left it off and painted the manifold red to match the truck. The gaskets for the manifold are individaul for each tube and are reuseable but i guess you can buy new ones if they are bad. Good luck keep us posted
