Start with having the battery tested at your local auto parts store. These trucks are extremely sensitive to voltage changes. A bad battery or one going bad may cause all manner of problems.

I don't think the battery is your problem, my sister's 04 (with pretty close to the same miles, she's somewhere in the 40s, if I remember right) just had a similar issue, except she forced it into drive and then shut it off and wasn't able to get it back out of drive to start it again.

Did you manage to get it back out of reverse, or is it stuck in gear? If its stuck in gear, that's why it won't try to start. The truck won't start in any gear other than park or neutral.

She ended up having to have it towed to the dealer and it cost her a couple hundred bucks to have it fixed.

I don't remember what the issue was, and although I know exactly where the paperwork is, I won't be home until tomorrow night

Got somebody to fax it to me :)

Here's a PDF of the invoice. Like I said, not sure whether its the same problem you're having, but it sounds very similar.

If I remember right, it was a pretty involved repair and they had to take apart a lot of the steering column.

Print out a copy of the PDF from the post above and take that with you to the dealer when you go, and if they can't quickly tell you what's wrong, show them that and tell them it had similar symptoms and hopefully that'll help them be able to quickly diagnose it and get it fixed & back to you.
