Default passlock problem

I've seen several threads on this problem, but no answers. The problem is the truck will turn over fine but will not crank. I can wait 15 minutes and it fires up everytime. It happens about once a month and always at the worst times. The passlock light is on in the dash during this problem then off after 15 min and it cranks. It is a 2005 sle 2wd with off rd package. Any solution to not wait the 15 minutes??? Thanks in advanced!

Did you lock the doors using the remote keyless entry but open using the key?

It was doing the same thing when then keyless entry was used, but now we only use the key and the keyless entry is hardly ever used (keyholder broke). It sometimes does it without the doors locked at all. Just shut it off, get gas, and will not crank. Wait 15 min and it'll crank. It is completely random when it does it. Might be on a cold start, during a 800 mile trip, during a local errand trip. It doesn't do it often enough to leave it at a shop, but it does it enough to aggravate me. I wish there was a code or sequence like "lock the door with the keyless entry and open with key and it resets it" instead of waiting 15 minutes when I'm already late to where I need to be going. Thanks again!
