Did this a few months back and just added quick connects to secure the wire back together if my battery ever goes bad and it needs to relearn. Got a couple thousand starts with no issues.
Thanks goes to the OP! |

HI there,
same for me, apart that I live in Mexico and hard to trust garages here, even the dealership looks dodgy! The sales rep even told me, on-board computer don't get reprogrammed, you have to change it!!! WTF!! What the point of it being a 'computer'?? Got a 2004 Colorado LS 4x4 - not too sure of mileage. Left for urgent trip abroad and left keys with a friend to keep it running but he didn't... Anyways, had a new battery as other one died dry but car won't start now. Got the Passlock light on dashboard. Tried the 'start leave for 10' then off for 30 seconds' thing but no success. Now, I had enough and dropped the car at dealership. Waiting for diagnostic. Any help would be highly appreciated. Cheers Jason |

Hey thanks for pointing out which wire.
I just did this. Can confirm the truck will still start with the door sensor disconnected. I put on some quick connects on the cut wire so I could reconnect it. So it is clear, you need to cut the blue/white striped wire on the small wire bundle on the driver side. It is right next to a green/white striped wire. When it is cut, the car won't warn you when your keys are in the ignition when you open the door to get out... so add a spare set of keys to the OP's list of things. =) Lets see if it fixes my trucks problem... |

Well I hope this is working for everyone, I still have not had any issues on the other two trucks I've done.
Justin96chevy, go the link below. It's a how to on how to change the LED color, but this will also show you how to remove the LED that indicator on your dash is using. Other wise you will need HPT, or EFI Live How-to: Custom Gauge Lighting (LEDs) w/video

No, there will not be any issues if the battery dies, gets disconnected, or any other scenario you can throw at it about losing power.
