I have an 04 Colorado ZQ8 crew cab that I recently replaced the blower motor in and it just quit working. The harness looks good, I just replaced the resistor and had no burned parts of the connector so I believe that is still in working order. I made some jumper wires and was able to run the blower motor straight off the battery so it works. One thing I find peculiar is that when I check for voltage at the connector for the blower motor it comes in as reverse polarity. If I switch the DDM leads and put the black one with the red wire and the red wire with the black one the multimeter reads right. Would this be caused by a faulty ground, Out here in phoenix it is very hot so any help would be deeply appreciated.
I followed the thread quite a bit and used that as a basis of trouble shooting but am at a loss right now. |

That was the problem! First time I have ever seen a bad ground cause something like that. I think its kind of dumb to have so many wires grounded to such a small point that they painted over too. I filed off some of the paint around the hole, cleaned everything up with contact cleaner, and reassembled.

I to had the same problem. Went through the same diagnostics and was unable to find the problem until now. THANKS! I had to do one extra step I isolated the pin that was going to the blower and bent it to make contact with the connector. The dumb aluminum connectors they use corrode and quit making contact. Cleaning the corrosion made the gap bigger.
