Trying to wire in led brake light

I'm trying to wire-in a red led strip in the space between bottom of tailgate and top of bumper. I can't seem to find the right combination as when I wired it in to where it worked with the brake, it also flashed with the turn signal. I am wiring into the back of the passenger side taillight assy. I have tried every combination of the six wires that go to the bottom socket. Any suggestions?

it sounds like one of those led light bars that you can plug into the trailer connection. if thats the case, plug the connection into the trailer connector and then use the stock wiring wiring diagram to show you which wires do what on the 4-prong trailer connection.

You'll need something like this logic box which will convert the turn/stop on the truck to stop only for your 3rd brake light

will not effect your truck lights

These adapters are commonly used for Camper shell 3rd lights as well..

I used one for my third brake light on my headache rack. Worked awesome.
