Excellent directions, they worked flawless and now I get a lovely, soothing beep when I lock my truck. :D

alright, so i did everything thing it said, i switch to different modes, but i get the same damn beep beep every time.
for the key position, all i have to do is insert it in and not move it?
i wish i had it before, but i love my friends that mess with me and press unlock and lock many times while inside the truck.
kills me since my remote start works by pressing lock 3 times.
anything i am doing wrong?
i have the truck locked, key inserted, and i choose the level i want and press the stem, it goes black.

Where does one acquire an owner's manual for a 2006 Chevy Colorado?

Re: TIP: Changing Remote Door Lock Indicators (RFA Modes)

2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I bought a factory used keyless remote on E-Bay. I took it to the dealer and they programmed it to work on my vehicle. The horn would not blow when I hit the door locks, so I found the instructions on this website. I followed the instructiuons for programming the remote, selected RFA-2. It worked great on the first try. Thanks folks for the info.

Re: TIP: Changing Remote Door Lock Indicators (RFA Modes)

It's all a moot point if we have to be 5 feet from the truck for the keyless entry to work.. I swear sometimes I'm so close i could just use the darn key.. .

Sounds like your remote battery is dying...

Re: TIP: Changing Remote Door Lock Indicators (RFA Modes)

PERFECT! First try out of the gate. Had the door open and everything. Held down on the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob, then pressed the display stem for 2 secs and it moved to the next mode. Quickly pressed the stem again to confirm change and voila!

Re: TIP: Changing Remote Door Lock Indicators (RFA Modes)

Awesome, thanks! I will try this after work. I just bought a used 2007 Canyon, and I was wondering why it didn't honk when I locked it.
