Which vent valve part number?

Hi,

I'm doing the common P0449 error code repair. I think I can fix it myself, after having read several related threads, but I'm getting some conflicting information.

There are several different part numbers referenced in various threads: 214-2147, 214-2149, 214-2324 and 214-2328. These are all AC Delco vent valves. My understanding is that some use a square connector and others an oval. If you get the wrong one, you have to also buy wiring harness 19257603 to make it fit.

Which part # would be a perfect fit for an 07 Canyon (SL, 2wd, i-4, stick shift)?

Edit: Just learned that the 07's used the round/oval connector. These were phased out for the square ones later. If anyone knows which part has the round connector, it'd be a huge help.

Thanks for the help.

Best,
Kodak

The valve that will fit and plug and play with your wiring is 214-2149.

The originally recommended valve, 214-2147 is no longer in production. If you order that number, you will get it's replacement, 214-2324, which has the square connector. That will necessitate the jumper harness. I don't recognize the number 214-2328.

Note: for anyone with a newer truck, the wire harness was changed to a square connector, so 214-2324 will be the correct number. I know that the 2011 has a square connector and I think the 2010 does also.

Plug and play, baby. 214-2149.

Thanks for the speedy reply, cart. I'll grab this part and get it done this weekend.

Just did the job and I want to report that the part was a perfect fit. Cart, you saved me about $40 versus what the dealer wanted for the new generation vent valve plus adapter. Big thanks!
