Those who have the truck feel it is unnecessary and that the factory cooler is more than adequate.

You can search for the word cooler or the phrase "transmission cooler" and read those who have experience.

Or look for a few threads with "towing" in the title...there are 2 or 3 in depth towing threads meant to make you happy.

Take a look at my review on a tow I did with the V6:

Comments on transmission temp from my review:

Transmission Temperature

I checked this several times on the drive to Shreveport, frankly did not check it much on the return because the temps going were great. At constant highway speeds, temp was about 145 degrees. On hard climbs, etc. it might rise to 150 degrees. I did notice once I reached Shreveport and was catching every red light, the temperature went up to 160 degrees, but as soon as I hit a stretch of road for a mile or two without lights, it came right back down to the low 150s.

I know others have commented on transmission temp, perhaps look for a thread or two on towing from @Reverendbiker.
