According to that I should tip the scales at 3826lbs

Lol, I keep rubbing it in to my firend with his 03 Silverado that I have a higher rated payload capacity than him - only by 100lbs, but thats what it says - haha :P

Mine was 3400 on the nose at the track's digital scales... that was 1/4 tank of gas, bed mat, no extra cargo, and without me in it.

GVW stands for Gross Vehicle Weight, and includes a full tank of fuel and all fluids (washer fluid, antifreeze, etc), as well as payload and passengers. It is not the weight of your truck.

What you should be looking for is curb weight, which is weight without passengers or payload, 1/2 tank fuel, and all fluids. Chevy has all the curbweights for I4 trucks listed on there website under specifications/capacities. I can make a list for the site for easy reference for those who can't have there trucks weighed and would just like a close estimate. But keep in mind though, it would only be for I4 trucks for some reason Chevy dont have the I5 trucks listed, but you would think it would probably be within 20-30 lbs of each other.

Re: How much does your truck weigh?

I was shocked at how much my 2WD canyon weighed. I think it was around 3800 on the truck scale at the scrap yard. My old 4WD silverado weighed 4600+/- on the same scale. I was expecting the canyon to be a lot lighter.

Re: How much does your truck weigh?

I was at the dump the other day with ~150 lbs of trash in the back. Was very surprised to see that I was at 5074lbs !!! I suppose thats what happens when you install heavy tires, winch, camper shell etc.... Now I don't feel so bad about 17mpg...
