Very true. They're a dime a dozen around here.

Re: AAM 800 axle specs

Anyone have the ratio between tire dimensions as they relate to gearing...

35"s vs 33"s vs 32" for example.

Curious since tire size not only effects torque forces. Also throws off your speedo readings as well as mpg when you change from stock to bigger shoes.

Re: AAM 800 axle specs

well, i have 33" with 4.10, and is perfect
31" in the colorado 3.73 is perfect too
but 35 is better whit 4.56.
if you want 33" whit star speed and control in very slow spedd you can use 4.56 .

the problem is the colorado sell here dont said z71 or z08, nothings, then the specifications is no clear

Re: AAM 800 axle specs

Does anybody know the width of our axles WMS-WMS? Are they all the same? I'd read somewhere that the Z71 axle was 2 inches wider than the Z85? Anybody with a Z71 care to measure?

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 05 Colorado ext cab LS Z85. The Ford 8.8 is a popular swap into Jeep YJ's (the ones with the square headlights). The width of these axles is 59.5" WMS to WMS if not mistaken. The swap would be great if it's not to wide. There is a C-clip eliminator kit on the market. Superior Axle and Gear makets one called the Super 88. It comes with everything to get rid of the c-clip and chrome moly shafts. The draw back is having to redrill them for 6 lugs
