back lites in arm rest

May 2 2016.

I have a 2004 Canyon. Armrest lights quit working.
I looked on this site and found that others had had the issues and they had posted Pictures (thank you) and script (thank You) on how to replace the bulbs in the armrest.

GM only has the major component available. The component with the light bulbs is expensive.

Another member had purchased bulbs (with sockets attached) from
Mouser (www.mouser.com) and the only difference from the bulbs in the armrest is that the new bulbs are clear white.

So for 20 bucks, including freight, I got 10 bulbs. I installed the three bulbs in the left armrest (only 2 were bad but to keep the color constant) ...

The bulbs and bases "push" straight in and out for the windows and locks. The mirror bulb have to turn, maybe a 1/8 turn to "ramp" into their socket.

Thanks to all the members for a good place for info.

I have 7 extra bulbs and the right side armrest only has two sockets.

One caution. Use extra car when pulling the from of the armrest free. heave steel springs hold the front of the part in place. If the rear is pulled too far up before the hold down spring is clear, the armrest could snap.

Thanks to everyone!

Add this note about installing the new bulbs from Mouser Electronics (part # 560-DNW21-DW10/BLA) the door lock and the window control bulbs must be turned the 1/8 of a turn ( with a very small screwdriver) or the will fall out of the socket.

Thanks,
